+ ANTIBACTERIAL
The plastic used in the Pentel Antibacterial+ is made with silver ions, which contain the spread of bacteria.
The PERMANENT antibacterial effect of silver ions is achieved in different ways:
1. Silver ions destroy the cell membrane. The interaction of the silver ions with the cell membrane leads to a reduced adhesion of the germs to their subsurface and thus to poor growth conditions.
2. Silver ions inactivate enzymes in cells. They block cellular enzymes in germs, thereby disrupting the metabolism and reducing the vitality of bacteria.
3. Silver ions prevent the duplication of the genetic information. They cause damage inside the cell through their interaction with proteins and thus prevent DNA replication.
